Three county attractions are shortlisted for tourism awards

The winners of the awards will be announced this month.

Battlefield re-enactment

A two-day festival themed around the medieval battle which changed the course of English history, an ancient manor house with links to the Gunpowder Plot and Britain’s only surviving travelling theatre have all been shortlisted as finalists in awards celebrating the best of Leicestershire tourism.

Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre, the 1620s House & Garden and the Century Theatre – all run and managed by us - have been selected to compete in the Leicestershire Promotions Tourism & Hospitality Awards 2018.

We are very proud of what we can offer the people of Leicestershire and visitors from further afield when it comes to history, heritage and culture.

“I am delighted that the hard work that the staff and volunteers put in at the Century Theatre, Bosworth Battlefield and the 1620s House has been recognised. It is a well-deserved tribute and I wish them every success on the night of the awards.

All three venues have had a fantastic year for visitors and their shortlisting for the awards shows the quality of the venues and the events they host. The shortlisted nominations are:

  • Century Theatre – Best Night Out & Best Team
  • Bosworth Medieval Festival – Favourite Festival or Event, Paid category
  • 1620s House & Garden – Best Day Out

The winners of the awards will be announced at an event in Leicester on Thursday, 29 November.
