Council Tax
Council tax pays for around a third of the cost of local services, and applies to nearly all domestic properties
You pay council tax directly to your district council.
For information on discounts and exemptions read the GOV.UK guide.
In Leicestershire the council tax is calculated by adding together the amounts needed by:
- Leicestershire County Council
- Leicestershire Police
- Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Combined Fire Authority
- Your District or Borough Council
- Your Parish Council (if applicable)
