Freedom Play and Creative Arts Therapy

Play & Creative Arts Therapies are recognised and regulated psychotherapies which aims to help children & adolescents come to terms with difficult feelings, events or memories that may be causing them problems.

Play & Creative Arts therapies are especially beneficial when individuals feel distanced from their feelings, when it is upsetting to talk about a painful experience or for individuals with communication difficulties. Many children and young people find creative therapies can help them learn to deal with, and move on from their difficulties.

Play & Creative Arts Therapists help children and young people to explore and articulate their feelings through creative activities such as painting, drawing, creating music drama and dance, using sand stories through sandplay and creating and exploring with clay. Experiences or feelings that may be hard to put into words can be expressed through the art & creativity.

Play & Creative Arts Therapy can help those in need restorative support for managing a variety of difficulties such as Attachment Disorders, Abuse, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Bereavement Adoption, Trauma, Family support, Depression, Self harm  & Eating Disorders
