Proof of residency - this can be a utility bill, a tenancy agreement or a legal ‘letter of completion’. It must be dated within the last 3 months.
Vehicle Registration Document (V5C). If you have recently purchased a vehicle from another owner, the ‘V5C Section 10 – New Keepers Supplement’ is acceptable. If you have purchased a new vehicle and do not yet have the V5C then a copy of the V5C2 or sales invoice for the new vehicle is acceptable.
If your vehicle is registered in another person’s name we will accept the V5C as evidence as long as your surname is the same as that on the V5C. If you are a student you may also be asked to show that you normally live at the address shown on the V5C.
If your surname is different to that shown on the V5C then we are not able to issue a permit for the vehicle.
If your vehicle is a company vehicle then you must provide evidence from your employer that you are the ‘keeper’ of the vehicle.
No. The number of permits allowed per residence is based on the likely take-up of permits across the zone. Using other residence’s unused allowance would result in too many permits being issued for the available road space.
No. The permit will have incorrect vehicle details. The permit holder moving out should return their permit to Leicestershire County Council. Upon receipt, the permit allocation will then be available for any other person at the residence on a first come first served basis.
Visitor permits may be ordered by phone and paid for by credit or debit card.
Visitor permits can only be purchased by the registered full permit holders at the residence, unless the full allocation of parking permits has not been taken up. (See next question).
Books of visitor permits will be issued per calendar month and on a ‘first come first served’ basis. Leicestershire County Council will not enter into any dispute between tenants over allocation of visitor permit books.
If the allocation of full parking permits is not taken up then someone else living at the same address may register to buy books of visitor permits. This is on condition that they give up this right should the unused full permit allocation be taken up by another resident at a later date.
Proof of address is required for a non-permit holder to register to buy books of visitor permits.
