School Games cycle event

A number of roads in Slawston and Cranoe will be closed in September as part of a national multi-sporting event.

Roads closed as future Olympians take part in event  

From Thursday, 31 August, to Sunday, 3 September, Loughborough University will welcome 1,600 elite youngsters aged 13 to 16 to take part in the final of the School Games. The event gives future Olympians the chance to take part in 12 sports.

One of those events is a cycle race to be held on Sunday, 3 September, which will see the following roads closed between 7am and 3pm:

  • Cranoe from School Lane to Slawston Road
  • Slawston Road, Cranoe – from Langton Road, Slawston to Main Street, Slawston
  • Welham Road, Slawston – from Main Street, Slawston to Slawston Road, Welham
  • Slawston Road, Welham – from Main Street, Slawston to Bowden Lane, Welham
  • Welham Lane, Cranoe – from Slawston Road, Welham to Welham Lane, Cranoe
  • Church Hill, Cranoe – from Langton Road Cranoe to Church Hill Road, Cranoe
  • Langton Road, Slawston – from Main Street to Slawston Road, Cranoe
  • Main Street, Slawston from Slawston Road, Cranoe to Welham Road, Slawston
  • Slawston Road, Welham
