If you live in the city of Leicester, Leicestershire or Rutland you can call the United Against Violence and Abuse (UAVA) advice line for domestic and sexual abuse.

The advice line is open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Saturday, and it's free, confidential and hidden from bills.

You should still call 101, or in an emergency 999, to report domestic or sexual violence to Leicestershire Police.

This is a joined-up service that makes it much easier for people to get help when they need it - councils across the area and the Police and Crime Commissioner have joined up to provide this service through United Against Violence and Abuse (UAVA).

The police will be working closely with UAVA to make sure that victims receive the help and support they need.
