Proposal to establish a new primary school to serve Garendon Park development in Loughborough

The council has invited expressions of interest from Academy Proposers interested in sponsoring a new 420 place Primary School from September 2027 to serve Garendon Park housing development, west Loughborough area of Leicestershire.

The closing date for applications is 12pm on Friday 31 July 2026.

The establishment of the new primary school will help deliver the county council’s strategic plans for the provision of school places and ensure there is access to good quality schools within the west Loughborough area, and in particular to meet the demand arising from new housing.
