Welcome to our flagship nursery and pre-school at Lonsdale Road, Thurmaston – the original home of Charnwood Nursery & Pre-school Group. For over 20 years we’ve been trusted by local families to provide high-quality childcare and early education for children aged 0-5 years.
We believe children thrive when they have space, freedom and encouragement to explore. That’s why our nursery is built around a strong outdoor play ethos. Children have access to a dedicated Forest School garden on site, where they can climb, dig, build, and connect with nature. In addition, children enjoy regular visits to our very own off-site Forest School, where they experience true woodland adventures that build resilience, independence, and a lifelong love of the outdoors.
Our bright and engaging rooms are carefully designed for each stage of development, and our bespoke curriculum goes beyond the EYFS to spark curiosity, imagination, and a joy of learning. Every child is supported to learn at their own pace and celebrated for their unique strengths.
We are proud of our highly qualified and experienced staff team – including a dedicated SENDCo – who create a safe, inclusive and inspiring environment. Through our strong key person approach, every child has a familiar adult who knows them well, helping them feel secure, understood and ready to flourish.
Children also enjoy plenty of adventures in the community – from exploring local places of interest to learning about their environment and taking part in our much-loved intergenerational programme, building connections across generations.
With strong links to local schools, we make sure children are fully prepared for a smooth and confident transition to their next stage of learning.
