This consultation runs from Monday 20 April to Sunday 14 June 2026.
The draft Leicestershire Carers Strategy 2026-2030 sets out the County Council’s vision and priorities for recognising, valuing, and supporting Leicestershire carers to make a positive difference.
The council’s three key priorities for carers are outlined in the strategy which also sets out how we will continue to support carers and support them with their own health and wellbeing.
Key priorities:
- Carers are recognised, valued, and listened to and supported to continue caring
- Carers are provided with accurate, timely and relevant information and advice
- Carers can access social care and wellbeing services when needed
Our draft strategy incorporates legislation and national policies that shape our role and responsibilities when supporting carers. The strategy also highlights how we will continue to build on our achievements and work together with health partners and commissioned providers to strengthen and improve services to meet carers' needs.
