The hugely popular Bosworth Medieval Festival will be making a welcome return this August with tickets now on sale.
The two-day festival, which attracts thousands of visitors to Leicestershire County Council’s Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre, featuring reenactors and traders from across the country, will take place on the weekend of Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 August.
This year’s event is set to be even more special with the anniversary of the Battle of Bosworth being commemorated the same weekend and people are being encouraged to snap up tickets early to avoid disappointment.
Visitors can expect a full day of entertainment, with re-enactments from The Wars of the Roses Federation – including the Battle of Bosworth finale, Falconry displays, Jester shows, music, storytelling and a Medieval Market to explore.
There will also be crafts for children, family have-a-go activities and author talks, as well as entry to the award-winning exhibition and free car parking.
2024’s festival was ‘Highly Commended’ in the Best Event/Festival with Paid Entry category at the Leicestershire Tourism and Hospitality Awards.
“It’s such an honour to be able to host this fantastic and popular event – especially on the same weekend that marks the Battle of Bosworth anniversary.
“This is a great summer festival for the family to enjoy, and the battle itself was a pivotal moment in English history. It’s a chance for people of all ages to learn about Leicestershire’s rich heritage and have a great day out.”
