Free stay and play sessions for Leicestershire tots

The free sessions are available at more than 20 Family Hubs

Early years childcare children

Parents and carers can access free stay and play sessions for children aged 0-5 at more than 20 Family Hubs across Leicestershire.

Sessions vary, but typically include free-play, arts and crafts, snacks, messy play and stories.

Run by dedicated volunteers supported by Leicestershire County Council’s Family Help Service, they provide a safe, fun and engaging space for little ones to explore, learn and develop essential life skills.

Stay and play sessions are a fantastic way for children to learn and grow while providing parents with a welcoming and supportive community.

These sessions offer creative activities that boost confidence, improve social skills, and support early years development. They also offer a great opportunity for parents to connect with others, share experiences and access valuable support.

Studies show that early play enhances cognitive skills, language development and motor skills, helping children build social awareness, problem-solving abilities and emotional resilience.

Stay and plays allow children to learn at their own pace in a relaxed and reassuring atmosphere.
