People can share their views on plans to reduce domestic abuse and improve support for adults and children affected by it.
Survivors have played a key role in shaping Leicestershire County Council’s draft domestic abuse reduction strategy, sharing their experiences to highlight what works well and where barriers still exist.
The strategy focusses on earlier help, better awareness, making information clearer, and stronger joint working between services.
It also sets out plans to improve access to safe accommodation and ensure children are recognised and supported as victims in their own right.
“Domestic abuse affects people of all ages and backgrounds. It can involve many forms of harm, including physical, emotional, financial and controlling behaviour and has a deep impact on families and communities.
“We’re grateful to the survivors who shared their experiences and views to help inform this strategy. They helped highlight where support needs to improve and what made the biggest difference when they asked for help.
“Please do take some time to fill in our short survey so we can ensure we are building the strongest possible approach.”
