Renew and Reserve

To sign in you will need your:

  • Library PIN
  • Library card number or temporary borrower number

After you sign in to renew and reserve, you can search for specific titles and authors on the online catalogue.

Replacement library card

If you don’t know your library card number or have lost your library card, contact a library.

The charge for a replacement library card is £1 for adults, 50p for children.

If you don’t know your library PIN

You can ask staff at any library to reset your PIN or contact us on 0116 305 2695, email

If you know your library card number and registered your email address when you joined the library, you can also reset it online by visiting the online library catalogue, selecting ‘log in’ and ‘forgot my PIN’.

What can be renewed and reserved

You can renew and reserve the following:

  • books
  • e-books
  • talking books (CD)
  • eAudiobooks
  • sound recordings and films

Any item borrowed from a Leicestershire or Rutland Library can be returned to any Leicestershire or Rutland Library.

It is not possible to renew an item that has been requested by another library member, instead we ask that you return the item to any Leicestershire library by the item due date. If you have any questions about an item you have on loan please contact a library or email

Reservation charges

For books, talking books, sound recordings and DVDs

  • working adults: £1
  • concessionary rate for full time students and the unwaged: 20p
  • under 18's: Free
  • People with disabilities (books and talking books only): 50p

Inter-library loans

You will pay:

  • £6 to £12 for inter-library loans

Subject requests

  • Free

Reservation charges can only be paid when you visit the library.
