Leicestershire Health and Wellbeing Board brings together key leaders from across the local health and care system to improve the health and wellbeing of residents. Health and Wellbeing Boards were established under the Health and Social Care Act 2012.
Responsibilities of the Board
- Identifying needs and priorities across Leicestershire, through the Leicestershire Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) so that future commissioning, policy decisions and priorities are based on evidence.
- Preparing and publishing the Joint Local Health and Wellbeing Strategy and delivery plan on behalf of Health and Wellbeing Board partner organisations so work is coordinated, planned and measurable.
- Supporting the design and delivery of neighbourhood models of care, including a neighbourhood health plan that will form an addendum to the Joint Local Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
- Communicating and engaging with residents and partners to support people to have choice and control over their health and wellbeing.

Approving the Better Care Fund which uses a pooled budget to support more integrated care and services, alongside proposals for its implementation.

Working with partners to support further integration and innovation across health and social care services.
Who is on the Board
Leicestershire Health and Wellbeing Board is a partnership chaired by the County Council Cabinet Lead Member for Health.
Its membership includes representatives from the Integrated Care Board, Healthwatch Leicester and Leicestershire, Voluntary Action Leicestershire, Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, University Hospitals of Leicester, the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, Leicestershire Police and local authority partners.

Meetings
The Board meets quarterly in person at County Hall. Meetings are streamed live, and agendas, reports, minutes and dates of future meetings are available on the democracy website.
