Green Living Leicestershire home energy grant

Green Living Leicestershire is a partnership between Leicestershire authorities to deliver projects supporting sustainability and Net Zero - the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions to as close to zero as possible.

The home energy grant can help Leicestershire residents improve the warmth and comfort of homes, whilst also reducing energy bills, carbon emissions and levels of fuel poverty across the county.

Due to significant demand we have now closed to new applications to the Green Living Leicestershire home energy grant (see if you're eligible for Phase 2 of this scheme). We're directing residents to sign up to our Warm Homes Newsletter to be notified of future funding rounds and the latest advice and information supporting affordable warmth at home.

We're now working to carry out installation of viable measures, prioritising the least efficient homes first. Funding is finite and measures offered are subject to survey and spend caps. We will not be able to support all applicants in this round of funding. Existing applicants that we are unable to support will also be notified of any future rounds of funding.

The delivery timescale to complete existing applicant installations has been extended beyond March 2023, subject to the way the home is currently heated. Our delivery partners EON Energy Solutions will be contacting households to advise on the outcome of any outstanding applications in this round of funding.

Eligible homes could receive the following:

  • External wall insulation
  • Air Source Heat Pumps (low carbon heating)

Further information

The grant is provided on a first come first served basis prioritising the most inefficient properties and application alone doesn't guarantee receipt of measures which are subject to survey, availability and funding being deliverable by end of March 2023. The scheme will prioritise the lowest energy efficient homes.

Due to anticipated demand, we may not be able support all applicant households in this round of funding however previous applicants will be notified of new initiatives as they become available.

Funding is provided via Sustainable Warmth Competition administered by the Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). The fund consists of Local Authority Delivery and Home Upgrade Grant designed to support household on and off the gas network respectively and is subject to average spend caps and caps on the proportion of properties with an EPC rating of D that can be supported.

Residents of Oadby and Wigston Borough, please note that funding under this scheme is administered locally however the application route was via YES Energy Solutions (03309 126 199 Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm)
