Council reaction to the boundary review

Council welcomes changes to electoral divisions

County Hall

Today, the Boundary Commission published its final recommendations for Leicestershire County Council's electoral divisions.

The county council welcomes the commission’s recommendations for new boundaries as they are, overall, in line with the proposals submitted to the commission by the county council in July 2015.

"The new boundaries are aimed at primarily improving electoral equality. These new arrangements will come into effect in for the county council elections in May 2017.”

Full details of the commission’s final recommendations (including maps) can be viewed.
