Home Report a street light problem We are responsible for maintaining and repairing street lights, lit signs and bollards. If you see a problem you can report it to us Part night lightingWe use part night lighting, where some lights are switched off between midnight and 5.30am. This helps reduce energy costs, carbon emissions and light pollution. Regular reviews with police have shown that, as a whole, part night lighting has not increased crime or road traffic collisions. We've invested in a Central Management System that automatically reports faults where we've converted our lights to LED. We aim to finish converting lights by 2018. We also have a night patrol officer who looks for faults with street lights and illuminated signs and raises job requests. It takes around 6 weeks to see all the lights in the county.Report a problemWe aim to repair faulty lights within 5 days but it can take longer where specialised traffic management is needed. Sometimes the fault will be with the electricity supply, in these cases we notify Western Power Distribution and the repair can take up to 4 weeks.Use the online form to report problems with street lights, including:lamp outsign outsign half outlamp lit during daycolumn leaninglamp obstructed by treeReport a street light problemIf it is an emergency and relating to a road traffic incident, please call the police. For other urgent emergencies, please call 07860569137.
