Charnwood Family Hubs

Family hubs formerly known as children and family wellbeing centres are local centres that can offer help and support to all families with babies and children aged 0-9 (25 for young people with SEND).

Some examples of the services our centres provide are:

  • baby clinics
  • play sessions
  • parenting support, including breast feeding, weaning and nutrition and behaviour management
  • baby massage
  • immunisation and vaccinations
  • drop-in sessions

Some extra services are targeted and restricted to families who need additional support.

We:

  • support parents before and after birth to help them feel prepared and ready to cope with being a new parent
  • give help and advice for parents and their babies including breastfeeding support, baby massage and support to access their free childcare
  • help support children’s speech, language and communication give support to families experiencing anxiety or depression during pregnancy and their child’s first year
  • help to develop parent’s skills and experiences to build confidence in learning new things and preparing for work
  • give support to families affected by Domestic Abuse
  • give support for young parents
