Go Learn! Learning for Independence

The Leicestershire Adult Learning Service offers a programme of courses across Leicestershire for adults aged 19 and above with learning difficulties and disabilities.

This range of courses includes support towards getting a job or volunteering, being involved in the local community, personal development including meeting new people and finding out about what to do with leisure time and moving on to independent life.

All adults with learning difficulties and disabilities have an informal meeting to provide advice and guidance onto courses. Following assessment, learners produce their own learning plan which is reviewed regularly with the course tutor. Some of the courses offered are accredited which means individuals will be working towards a qualification. We work with learners, parents and carers to ensure a positive learning experience and individuals may bring their own personal support worker if required.

We also offer a range of mainstream courses including computing, English and maths, skills for jobs, apprenticeships and traineeships and a range of leisure courses, as well as courses specifically aimed at adults with low confidence and mental health difficulties.

Prices vary dependant on courses, but we offer flexible payment options and if you are in receipt of certain benefits or have a low household income you may be able to access a 70% discount on tuition fees or courses may be completely free.
