Opened by the bereavement charity COPE in 1991, The Laura Centre offers a range of free open-ended counselling and therapeutic support for:

  • Anyone who has lost a child of any age. The loss could be recent or could have happened many years ago.
  • Children and young people up to the age of 24 who have lost a parent /carer  or other significant adult in their lives

We believe in offering support following bereavement because everyone benefits from some extra help when they encounter the trauma of losing a child or there is a close family bereavement.

Based in Leicester, with centres in Derby and Coventry as well, we provide wide ranging individual and group support as well as a variety of alternative therapies. We have recently started working with the Zephyr Project offering counselling services at Nottingham City Hospital.
