Local authority searches (Local land charges & Con29)

The local authority search looks at all the information held by the Local Authority about a specific property and is usually done by a conveyancing solicitor on your behalf.

Apply for a local authority search

Local authority searches are usually submitted by solicitors acting on behalf of potential buyers. This will be part of the work completed by a solicitor as part of a property transaction.

Fees vary depending on which district or borough the property falls within. Please contact the relevant authority if you need this information in advance.

Apply online

You can apply online through LeicesterShire Land & Property Searches.
