Mental health and wellbeing support for children and families

If you think you, or your child, are struggling with your mental health and wellbeing, there are lots of organisations that can offer support.

Support available

You can find information and advice with links to lots of different organisations, such as the NHS and other partner websites, on our get support with mental health and wellbeing page.

The Family Help Service

Children, young people and families, who need further help with their mental health, should reach out to their GP. We have some groups to help improve the child’s mental health and wellbeing.

 

Attendance to any of these groups is completely confidential.

Group offer

These groups allow children and families to meet and work with others who have had similar experiences.

Young Carers Group
 

This group is currently held online.

Who is the Young Carers Group for

This group is for young people, aged 11 to 19 years old, who provide regular and on-going care, and emotional support, to a family member who is physically or mentally ill, disabled, or misuses substances.

Aims of the Young Carers Group

To support young carers with their mental health and wellbeing and to provide a place where they can be themselves and meet other young people in similar situations.
