Carers celebrated at special recruitment event

Chance to say thank you to carers who transform lives

Dominic with his Shared Lives carer, Janine

A special event to find out more about a career in care is being held in Glenfield.

Leicestershire County Council’s 'shared lives' carers provide tailored support to people in the carer's home, helping them to build confidence and live independently in the community and experience living in a family environment.

There are 85 shared lives carers in Leicestershire who share their lives, families and homes with people with care and support needs to help them live their lives to the full.

The event is on 31 July and brings together carers from the county and Leicester to celebrate their incredible work and achievements.

It's also a chance for anyone interested in the role to speak to shared lives carers to hear about their personal experiences and advice and talk to council staff.

Our shared lives carers are local heroes, they open their homes and hearts to help others live full and independent lives.

This event is a chance to celebrate the amazing work they do and to say a big thank you. If you’ve ever thought about stepping up and becoming a shared lives carer, now’s the time to find out more, it’s one of the most rewarding roles out there.

Anyone who wants to attend the event should email Rizma.Riyajuddin@leics.gov.uk by 28 July for more details, including the venue and time.
