The 2026-27 Chairman is Linda Danks, she is the 50th since the council began in 1889.

The Vice Chairman for 2026 - 27 is Linda Broadley.

Honorary Aldermen and Alderwomen of the County Council

In 2005, the council agreed to appoint Honorary Aldermen and Alderwomen. The title recognises exceptional service of people who have reached the end of their political careers.
