Training through volunteering
There are 7 projects in Leicestershire that offer training for long-term unemployed people and people with:
- physical disabilities
- learning disabilities
- mental health problems
They offer training in many different skills including:
- warehousing
- electrical work
- customer care
- van driving
- retail skills
- woodworking
Some offer the opportunity to gain qualifications including:
- National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs)
- Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme (MiDAS) certificates
- City and Guilds
