About the Local Transport Plan

The local transport plan shows how we'll work to make sure that transport continues to play an important part in Leicestershire's success.

We want to achieve a safe and connected Leicestershire. The Local Transport Plan (LTP), which is a statutory requirement of the Local Transport Act 2008, is a key mechanism for delivering this.

It delivers integrated transport at a local level, helping to promote transport as an enabler to deliver economic, environment and social objectives. It does this by planning for infrastructure and initiatives to help people and goods travel around.

In 2024 we adopted our fourth Local Transport Plan (LTP4), which replaced the Leicestershire’s Local Transport Plan 3 (LTP3).
