The county council elections are held once every four years. This election is your opportunity to select the county councillor who will represent you in the area you live.
You need to be registered to vote before you can vote in the county council elections on Thursday 1 May 2025.
To check if you’re already registered, you’ll need to contact the electoral registration office at your local district council.

If you're away when the election is being held, or unable to get to a polling station, you can apply for a postal vote.

A list of names for those standing in each electoral division will be available in early April 2025.

The results of the 2025 election will be declared on Friday 2 May with counts starting at 11.30am on the elections 2025 page.. You'll be able to see them on a dedicated webpage on this website as soon as they're declared.
Once elected, your councillor is there to serve you and your community. You can contact them about any issues or problems that you think need addressing.
