How to make a complaint about the Police and Crime Commissioner

The Police and Crime Panel has a responsibility to look into complaints made about the Police and Crime Commissioner.

The Police and Crime Panel has a responsibility to informally resolve:

  • non-criminal complaints about the conduct of the Police and Crime Commissioner (and any Deputy Commissioner, if appointed) and
  • criminal complaints or conduct matters, that are referred to by the Independent Police Complaints Commission

Make a complaint

All complaints will initially be dealt with by the Director of Law and Governance at Leicestershire County Council, Lauren Haslam.

Once your complaint has been made, we will decide whether the complaint:

  • can be dealt with informally between the complainant and the Police and Crime Commissioner
  • requires referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct

Annual complaints report

The Police and Crime Panel receives an Annual Report from the Director of Law and Governance regarding complaints against the Police and Crime Commissioner.
