Leicestershire School Admissions – entry 2027

Leicestershire County Council is currently consulting on proposed changes to school admission numbers at two local schools.

 

This consultation runs from Monday 3 November to Monday 15 December 2025.

We are proposing to reduce the admission numbers at the following schools:

  • Westfield Infant School, Hinckley – from 90 to 60
  • Ashby Church of England Primary School – from 45 to 30

These changes are in response to declining pupil numbers and lower birth rates in recent years. Both schools aim to reorganise their class structures to better reflect current and projected demand. Importantly, each school has agreed to increase their admission numbers again in future if demand rises.
