Rural Estate Strategy 2026-36

We are asking for views on the draft Rural Estate Strategy 2026-36.

 

This consultation runs from Wednesday 7 January to Friday 13 February 2026.

The County Council has owned farm properties for over 100 years, and the Council currently owns 7,359 acres of land including woodland. In addition to providing farming opportunities for new entrants to the industry, the estate has a good track record in delivering financial benefits that helps reinforce vital services. It supports the rural economy, local communities and the environment.  

The Rural Estate Strategy is being reviewed to ensure that the objectives and management strategy remain relevant and continues to meet the estates principal objectives.  

The Strategy’s overarching vision coupled with strategic ambitions and key objectives provides a framework that will guide the estate’s future management for the next 10 years.
