The joint evidence was submitted to the National Infrastructure Commission to help form their Rail Needs Assessment for the Midlands and the North and includes the Leicester Rail Station strategic outline business case.
This was our response to the Department for Transport’s HS2 Phase 2b design refinement consultation, published on 6th June 2019. These proposals set out 11 refinements / changes to the route of HS2 Phase 2b.
On the 16 October 2018 the Cabinet was updated on the current position on the proposed 30km long High-Speed Rail (HS2) route through Leicestershire and seek approval on the approach to mitigation measures against HS2 impacts. The cabinet was updated on the Route Refinement consultation at their meeting on 10 February 2017. Approval was also sought from the cabinet on the adoption of the draft Leicester and Leicestershire Rail Strategy.
