The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) ‘Delivering Good Governance in Local Government; Framework (2016)’ sets the standard for local authority governance in the UK.
We are committed to the principles of good corporate governance contained in that Framework.
Local code of corporate governance
To prove our commitment, we have developed and adopted, and continue to maintain a Local code of corporate governance. The Local code sets out the way we meet the principles outlined in the Framework.
Annual Governance Statement
We test our governance arrangements annually through the publication of the Annual Governance Statement (AGS). The AGS sets out our governance framework and the results of the annual review including any governance issues which require further development.
The Annual Governance Statement accompanies the Final Accounts.
