The toolkit provides guidance for parents/carers, schools, and local authorities on a common set of expectations about what schools should be doing to meet the needs of children and young people with SEND, and where they can get additional support in Leicestershire.

Leicestershire’s education, health and social care services are jointly inspected by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to see how well they meet their responsibilities towards children and young people with SEN and disabilities.

The Government has committed additional funding to help local authorities with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our plan sets out how we'll invest it.

Leicestershire County Council are working with the Leicestershire SEND Hub to provide a guide and directory that allow comparison of different types of educational settings and provision available to support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
