About Connect to Work
The programme supports disabled people, people with health conditions, and those who have found it difficult to move into or stay in work. The aim is to provide the right support, at the right time, to help you find suitable employment and thrive once in it.
Connect to Work follows the evidence based place, train and maintain approach. This starts with strengths and interests, supports a move into paid work as soon as participants are ready, and offers ongoing help to sustain employment.
What Connect to Work offers
- One to one support from a dedicated Employment Support Officer
- Help to explore skills, interests and job goals
- Support to identify suitable job opportunities with local employers
- Practical assistance with applications, interviews and starting work
- Up to 12 months of out of work support
- Up to 4 months of in work support for people at risk of losing their job
Who the programme is for
Connect to Work is for adults who:
- live in Leicestershire
- have a disability, health condition or other challenges that make finding or staying in work more difficult
- want to move into paid employment
Working with employers
The programme also supports local employers to recruit and retain committed, motivated staff. This includes tailored advice, on the job support and guidance on creating inclusive workplaces. See Connect to Work for businesses and employers for more information.
