The whistleblowing policy is designed to support and protect staff and others who have serious concerns about any aspect of the Council’s work to come forward and voice those concerns.
Leicestershire County Council employees should follow the whistleblowing procedures to draw attention to anything which seems to be against the interest of the public, the council or its staff, such as:
- issues of bad practice
- possible fraud or corruption or
- other matters.
The Council is committed to protecting employees who use the procedure to ‘blow the whistle’ in good faith from victimisation.
When and how to use the procedure
