Strike action

A one-day strike is expected to lead to some school closures

We are expecting a one-day strike on Wednesday, 1 February involving members of the National Education Union (NEU) which could lead to some schools closing.

As most schools in Leicestershire are academies, they don't need to inform us about closures which means it’s hard to gather a complete picture but schools will be communicating directly with parents.

We’re not anticipating any impact on our essential services but if required, we have tried and tested plans in place to manage any impact on our staffing levels.
