A Time To Talk... (Speech and Language Therapy for Schools)

Collaborative, independent Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Services exclusively for schools and early years settings in West Leicestershire, established in 2015 by Kate Goodhew.Settings can commission multi-tiered services on a regular or occasional basis. This may include any combination of the following:1. Specialist support - i.e. SLT assessment, diagnosis, advice and therapy. Settings will be provided with a highly experienced therapist who can assess and support pupils with a wide range of speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) including: Developmental Language Disorder, speech sound disorder and Selective Mutism.2. Targeted support - establishing evidence-based, school-led interventions in your setting through workforce development and coaching.3. Universal support - training and implementation of whole-school approaches as part of a school-led SLCN strategy. Our core approaches are 'Word Aware' - a whole-school approach to developing and enriching pupils' vocabulary, and Communication-Friendly Classrooms - embedding SLCN support strategies into quality first teaching. Consultation with senior leadership ensures that integration of SLCN strategy aligns with each setting's School Improvement Plan and core values.
