The Educational Psychology Service applies psychological expertise, research and theoretical understanding to work at every level within local settings on behalf of young people aged 0 to 25 years to ensure individual potential is maximised, in partnership with parents/carers.
The young people we work with are educated in Leicestershire academies or maintained / independent schools; in early years settings; may be educated at home, or are residents of Leicestershire but attend specialist educational settings beyond the county boundary.
The Service's key tasks are to offer bespoke, preventative, commissioned work to educational providers & to assist the Local Authority fulfil statutory duties towards children with the most complex learning difficulties and disabilities (CLDD) under the terms of The 2014 SEND Code of Practice: 0 to 25 years & The Equality Act 2010.
