Leicestershire Youth Offending Service
The Leicestershire Youth Offending (YOS) is a multi-agency partnership which includes, the Local Authority Police, the Probation Service, the NHS and Youth Services, all of whom jointly resource a multi-disciplinary team.Its main aim is prevent and reduce children and young people reoffending and promoting safer communities. The YOS works in partnership to achieve the National Youth Justice Strategic objectives which are to:
• Prevent offending
• Reduce reoffending
• Increase victim and public confidence
• Ensure the safe and effective use of custody.
The YOS coordinates and delivers Appropriate Adult services, Bail and Remand provision, Preventative, Pre-court and Post Court provision of Youth Justice Services to both Leicestershire and Rutland. It is structured into North and South locality Teams containing prevention and diversion case managers, post court case managers, qualified YOS officers and social workers, probation officers, police officers, an Education and Accommodation worker, CAMHS Children's Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) and a number of supporting specialist staff.YOS includes the IMPACT project (a team focused on street based work in ASB hot spot areas), a restorative justice team (reparation and victims workers), Volunteer coordinators and volunteers and mentors, the Health Pathfinder Project (which provides diversionary health responses to young people in Police custody), Group work and Participation co-ordination, Community Engagement and Antisocial Behaviour work
