Re-engage works within your local community to set up regular social gatherings for small groups of older people over 75, on their own and hoping to find new ways to get out and about.
Joining a Re-engage group can be a lifeline for companionship and support for people who may have been bereaved, lost confidence or are feeling depressed. Until recently we focused on monthly tea parties on a Sunday afternoon, but we will are now in the process of increasing our portfolio of activities. As these are developed, they will be included on our website interactive map.
Our local volunteers provide transport to and from the events so that you have nothing to worry about and no costs to pay. Re-engage groups meet right across the UK and there may well be one near you – or one in the pipeline so please check our website interactive map.
Anyone can introduce an older person to us, including family, friends, social and health care professionals, day centres, churches and other charities. We welcome referrals from NHS link workers. As at October 2019, our Leicestershire groups are in
