Feedback from schools
The Leicestershire Educational Psychology Service (LEPS) received excellent feedback from school and academy settings who commissioned from our service in 2023/24.
All respondents to our end of year survey would recommend the LEPS to other primary, secondary and specialist school settings.
Schools identified the following factors as key examples of why they valued input from the LEPS:
- Our very supportive approach, with a focus on solutions
- Our understanding of SEND and complex needs
- Trusting relationships have been formed with EPs from the LEPS
- Our ability to facilitate ways forward when there are contrasting views held
- Our professionalism
- The array of strategies and suggestions shared
- Our excellent communication skills
- Our knowledge of local systems and processes
Primary, Secondary and Specialist School settings were asked to indicate how helpful they found the following forms of support from the LEPS:
Case work | Training | Attendance and contributions at meetings |
---|---|---|
71.4% Very helpful |
88.9% Very helpful |
72.7% Very helpful |
23.8% Helpful |
11.1% |
18.2% Helpful |
85% of respondents rated the reports written by their Educational Psychologist (EP) as very helpful. Respondents were asked to rate the communication skills of their link EP:
- 77.8% of respondents rated these skills as excellent
- 19% of respondents rated these skills as very good
Having the same link EP for a number of years now has been incredibly valuable to us. Our parents feel reassured as they are seeing a familiar face, staff really value the continuity and the EP knows our children really well.
Fresh ideas from an impartial person were of great value and gave ideas that we could actually implement.
As a school, we are so happy with the LEPS CPD days and the EP involvement we have received this year. Thank you!
