Assistant Director Highways and Transport Operations
£98,673 - £111,606 (pro rata for part-time) pay award pending
We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to lead Leicestershire County Council’s highways and transport operations.
This role will be responsible for:
- maintaining and improving over 4,000km of road network
- managing the council’s vehicle fleet
- ensuring design and delivery of the highways and transport capital programme
- providing the county’s home to school, SEN and adult social care transport
We operate a mixed market economy with many services delivered in-house, backed by ongoing market testing so a keen commercial drive to continually improve productivity will be a key component of the role.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with the ambition to shape our services to successfully deliver in a challenging, high profile and fast-moving environment including working to transition through the process of Local Government Reorganisation.
