Armed Forces Week 2023

Armed Forces Day 2023 - Supported by the Seaforth Highlanders, Salvation Army Band and the Cottesmore Military Wives Choir

 

On Monday 19 June, the Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire and Chairman of the County Council attended the Armed forces Flag Raising ceremony to mark the beginning of Armed Forces Week. The flag was raised by RAF Veteran Neale Millett.

Armed Forces Day 2023 took place on Saturday 24 June. The event allowed people from across the City and County to show their support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, Veterans, Reservists and Cadets.

The occasion was celebrated with static displays, a parade through the City and an open air service in Green Dragon.
