Who is responsible for delivering the LNRS

 

Local Nature Recovery Strategy engagement

We would like your input to help us agree the strategy and then create a plan to deliver it. Have your say before 26 May 2024.

Leicestershire County Council has been appointed the ‘responsible authority’ for developing a Local Nature Recovery Strategy for Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland with support from a number of other local authorities, partners and stakeholders.

A Steering Group has also been established to oversee the development of the Local Nature Recovery Strategy.

The Steering Group includes representatives from the following organisations: 

  • Leicestershire County Council 
  • Leicester City Council 
  • Rutland County Council 
  • Natural England 
  • 7 Districts:
    • Blaby District Council
    • Charnwood Borough Council
    • Harborough District Council
    • Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council
    • Melton Borough Council
    • Northwest Leicestershire District Council
    • Oadby & Wigston Borough Council
  • National Forest Company 
  • Environment Agency 
  • Forestry Commission 

How you can contribute

The County Council and the supporting authorities will make opportunities available for people, organisations and groups to engage with and be involved in the development of the strategy with methods such as: 

  • surveys 
  • focus groups 
  • workshops 
  • online sessions
  • one to one meeting, as appropriate  
  • general correspondence
