Policy monitoring
There is a requirement to have an up to date plan and for regular monitoring and for a review to take place within five years of adoption of a plan.
We regularly monitor our Leicestershire Minerals and Waste Local Plan policies to ensure that they are meeting targets.
Authority monitoring reports
As part of this monitoring process, Leicestershire County Council is required to produce regular authority monitoring report to ensure that the plan is still delivering its vision and objectives.
The reports set out the performance of the local plan against a series of indicators from the local plan and the extent to which policies in the Leicestershire Minerals and Waste Local Plan are being achieved. Each also contains information on the implementation of the Minerals and Waste Development Scheme.

Local aggregate assessments
The National Planning Policy Framework requires mineral planning authorities to produce an annual local aggregate assessment.
The assessments show the demand for and supply of aggregates in Leicestershire, ensuring that there is a steady and adequate supply of mineral in line with national policy guidance and through the Managed Aggregate Supply System.
Latest aggregate assessment
This latest aggregate assessment is subject to ratification by the East Midlands Aggregate Working Party in October 2023.
