A large, busy library close to the town centre. The library has a ramp to the entrance and is on one level with wide aisles.

Coalville library temporary closure

Coalville library will be closed for two weeks from Monday 12 November for Smart Library self-access technology to be installed. The library will re-open again on Monday 26 November.

Library opening hours - Christmas 2018

Leicestershire libraries will be closed from:

  • Christmas Eve - Boxing Day (Monday 24 December - Wednesday 26 December)
  • New Year’s Eve - New Year’s day (Monday 31 December - Tuesday 1 January 2019)

Syston and Birstall libraries will be open in Smart Library access mode on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. 

Mobile libraries will not run from Monday 24 December – Tuesday 1 January inclusive.

Community managed libraries may have different opening hours. Customers are advised to contact the library before travelling.

Colouring Club

Every Thursday 1pm to 2.30pm.

An informal group for those wishing to do some colouring in a friendly and relaxed group. Materials provided for this drop in, free session.

Enterprise hubs

Every Friday 10am to 12pm.

Provides support for anyone aged 18 or above looking for support with business or self-employment.  Come along to our informal drop-in sessions for one-to-one business support, business opportunity profiles, market analysis, information regarding business plans, local business information, networking opportunities and access to seminars.

Make friends with a book

Every Tuesday 1pm to 2.30pm.

A place to relax, a chance to make new friends, and a new way to enjoy sharing reading. There is no pressure to read or talk, you can simply drop in, sit down and relax as you listen to a good story or poem. There is no homework and free refreshments are available.

Work clubs

Every Friday 10am to 12pm.

If you are aged 18 or above we can help you with returning to work, if you are under threat of redundancy, looking for a career change, looking for employment or training.  Come along to our informal drop-in sessions for help with CVs, cover letters, setting up an email address, IT skills, searching and applying for jobs, interview techniques, access to training and volunteering opportunities.

Wriggly Readers

Every Monday 2.15pm to 2.45pm and every Thursday 10.15am to 10.45am

Fun, informal sessions where babies and children aged 0-4 years and their parents/carers can join in with stories, songs and rhymes in a welcoming environment. An opportunity for families to meet and make friends.
