Syston library is close to the centre of the town, next to St Peter & St Pauls school. The library is on one level and has Library Plus extended opening hours.

Self-access at Syston library

Syston library members can now register to use new self-access technology. Library Plus is now live, and will allow users to take advantage of 30 additional opening hours per week.

During Library Plus self-access hours you can:

  • Borrow, return and renew library books using the self-service kiosks
  • Pick up and borrow reserved items awaiting collection
  • Use public computers, photocopy, print and access WiFi
  • Access the public library catalogue

Syston Library Plus

Library PlusAfter the extremely successful launch of Library Plus, we have added an extra half day of Library Plus opening, making Wednesdays now open all day for users to access the library. The new self-access technology means that members will now be able to take advantage of 30 extra opening hours a week.

New ‘smart’ access will allow customers to use their library card to enter the library, and borrow, return or renew items, as well as make use of the public computers, WiFi and printing/copying facilities during extended self-access opening hours.

In order to take advantage of additional opening hours, you will need to come to the library for a short induction on how to use the library when it’s in Library Plus mode.

To do this you can either pop into the library during normal staffed hours, or if you are unable to get to the library in normal staffed hours, please select one of our out of hours induction sessions to attend.
