A large, modern library in the centre of Wigston. The library has a ramp to the entrance and is on one level with wide easy access aisles. Facilities, such as the toilets, are on the lower floor with access available by lift and stairs.

Library update

From Monday 12 April, our council-run libraries will be open for browsing, borrowing and returning items. See what to expect when you visit a library page for more information.

We are still offering a click and collect service, for those who wish to use the service, until further notice.

You can still visit our digital library and access thousands of books, audiobooks, magazines and newspapers on your phone, tablet or computer. If you’re not already a member, it’s quick and easy to join online.

All loans will be extended until Monday 12 April and no overdue or hire charges will be applied until 1 July 2021.

Activities

Children’s Saturday Morning Club

Every Saturday 10.30am to 11.30am.

Free self-led family fun for all ages. Have fun playing with our collection of games and puzzles. Use our construction toys to build your own creations!

The last Saturday of the month will be a storytime session where children can join in using our puppets and story sacks.

Community Dementia Support Group

Every Monday 11am to 12pm.

Informal drop-in – refreshments, activities and support. For more information contact the library.

Community Refreshments

Every Thursday.

Wigston Library is somewhere warm to sit and read, chat to others, or use our computers for free. We will be serving free refreshments and we hope to see you soon!

Craft Club

Alternate Thursdays 10.30am to 1pm.

An informal group for members to work on their own craft projects and share ideas. Bring your own craft materials.

Digital Drop-in

Alternate Thursdays 1.30pm to 3.30pm

Do you need help with a tablet, mobile phone or laptop?  Come and find out how we can help!  Get free advice and share tips, bring your own equipment.

Knitting Group

Alternate Mondays 2pm to 3.30pm.

Learn to knit or practice your skills and have a natter. Bring your own wool and needles.

Make friends with a book

Every Wednesday 10.30am to 12.30pm.

A place to relax, a chance to make new friends, and a new way to enjoy sharing reading. There is no pressure to read or talk, you can simply drop in, sit down and relax as you listen to a good story or poem. There is no homework and free refreshments are available.

Scrabble Club

Alternate Thursdays 10am to 12noon.

A club where you can join others in a friendly game of scrabble.

The Singing Café

Every Thursday, 1.30pm-2.30pm.

All welcome, especially those with mental health challenges. Come along and enjoy meeting new people and singing together.

£3 per person (voluntary contribution).

Stamp Club

Second Saturday of the month 11am to 12pm.

All welcome. Free.

Stroll club 

First Wednesday of the month 10.30am onwards.

All ages and abilities welcome.

Every Thursday 12.30pm to 2pm

Wriggly Readers

Every Tuesday 10.30am to 11am.

Fun, informal sessions where babies and children aged 0-4 years and their parents/carers can join in with stories, songs and rhymes in a welcoming environment. An opportunity for families to meet and make friends.
