An offer giving carers across Leicestershire free access to two heritage sites is coming to an end.

Adult carers passports, run by Leicestershire County Council and Leicestershire Support for Carers, give free admission to Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre and 1620s House and Garden.

The offer has been running throughout the summer and is ending on Sunday 31 August.

Tickets will be valid for 12 months from the date of issue for anyone with a valid adult carers passport. Carers will also receive a free tea or coffee on their first visit to either attraction, and a slice of cake at the 1620s House.

A carers passport is an ID card for adults caring for a loved one, friend or neighbour aged 18 and over living in Leicestershire who could not manage without their support, and they are not employed to look after them.

A carer who recently visited 1620s House and Garden using their Carers Passport said: “The 1620s house and garden was fantastic, very hands on and so interesting. The guides were excellent and very informative. The garden was super and reading about how each plant was used. I'm telling everyone about this house. The cafe was great too.”

Another carer said: “This is amazing, to have little benefits that can make such a huge difference. Thank you.”

The offer is part of the county council's commitment to unpaid carers, who make an incredible difference to the local community and helps to encourage carers to come forward to get advice and support.

Apply by calling Support for Carers on 01858 468543, email maureen@supportforcarers.org or see more information on the Support for Carers website. Please quote FREEPASS 2025 when making an application.

Find more information on the 1620s House and Garden website and Bosworth Battlefield website.

Please note that the carers passport excludes entry to any special events and activities at either of the two sites. Standard admission charges apply for accompanying guests.
