National Offer Day for first time primary places and infant to junior transfers to autumn 2024 – Tuesday 16 April
You’ll be sent an email by 10am on National Offer Day informing you of your decision, if you applied online. Decisions will also be available on the Parent Portal by 10am on the day:
By post
If you submitted a paper application and didn’t include an email address, you’ll receive your decision in the post. This can take up to 5 working days.
Accepting the school you've been offered
If you are happy with the decision, you don’t need to do anything and the allocated school will be in contact.
Refusing the school you've been offered
If you're not happy with the decision you can appeal. We recommend you keep your offer until the outcome of the appeal.
If you no longer need your school place, please let us know using the contact form.
Offered a school that wasn't your first choice/s
If you have been refused any or all of your preferred schools, the next steps will be explained in an email you will receive on National Offer Day (or letter if you applied by post and didn’t supply an email address).
Not offered your higher preferred school place(s)
You will be placed on the waiting lists for those schools and you will retain the right of appeal.
Not offered any of your preferred school places
You will automatically be allocated a place at the next nearest school (to your home address) that still has a space. You will automatically be placed on the waiting list of your higher preference school/s and you will retain the right of appeal.
Contacting us
Our customer services lines will be very busy on National Offer Day. This means you may not be able to get through first time or you may experience long waiting times. If you can, consider calling a day or two later if you need to speak to us.
Alternatively, If you applied online and don't receive an email from us by 10am on the day, you can use our online form and select the National offer day button for help with your query.
